Seahawks Regular Season Week 8
Number two. It’s a great description of how the Seattle Seahawks have been playing this year. But alas! I am not here to discuss the excremental way that Seattle has carried themselves through the first seven weeks. No, number two this time is in reference to their second win of the year.
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck missed his third straight week with a bad back and following two poor performances by backups Charlie Frye and Seneca Wallace, one might think the team was in for another anemic outing from the offense. But Wallace had himself one of the best games of his career. He went 15 for 25 (60%) for 222 yards (14.8 per) and two touchdowns. Fullback Leonard Weaver was on the receiving end of both touchdown passes, for 43 and 62 yards respectively. The fourth-year man finished with four receptions for 116 yards (27.7 per)
The defense, while allowing a lot of yards, was able to shake up the 49ers offense and cause their quarterbacks to make mistakes. J.T. O’Sullivan, who was benched towards the end of the first half threw one interception that was returned by Safety Josh Wilson 75 yards for a score and had two fumbles, losing one. The only touchdown Seattle allowed came in the fourth quarter when QB Shaun Hill connected with WR Jason Hill on a 2 yard pitch and catch.
Seahawks (2-5-0) 49ers (2-6-0)
