McCain Camp Saying Socialist
John McCain hasn’t come out and said it but his campaign is now watering a seed in the minds of his supporters regarding Barack Obama. In his weekly radio address the Republican candidate for president attacked his Democratic counterpart, comparing the Illinois senator’s tax plan to “socialist” programs and saying they would “convert the IRS into a giant welfare agency, redistributing massive amounts of wealth.”
For a long time now McCain supporters have been calling Barack Obama a socialist. And now the McCain camp seems to be indirectly doing the same. While this is the first mention of it from McCain himself, his running mate, Sarah Palin, has been using the word in the past few days in her speeches. Not only that, Joe the “Plumber” is joining in on the fun. Mr. Wurzelbacher has called Obama’s proposed %3 tax hike on those who make more than $250,000 “a very socialist view.”
And goddammit, they’re right! Did we forget that Barack Obama is the man who stopped his campaign to return to Washington to get the big Wall St. bailout passed? Oh, wait…
